Past Fitzroy North’s Piedimontes and through an unmarked door is where you’ll find Alicia McVilly’s ceramic studio.

A pottery wheel sits to one side, surrounded by an impressive production line of clay parcels and half–baked pieces, ready for the kiln.

Alicia has the kind of calm focus that makes you wonder whether she’s ever worked as a brain surgeon. Or a primary school teacher. Or in telemarketing.

Growing up on a dairy farm in Warrnambool gave Alicia an appreciation for simple, handmade objects.

In the collection you'll find raw textures dipped in eggshell glazes. Alicia centers her work around the ritual of sharing meals, with each piece is designed, wheel thrown and glazed by the artist herself.
